2.It is contended by both the learned counsel for the petitioner and the

respondent that the petitioner and the respondent have now reached a settlement

and in order to put that settlement into effect, the original documents are required to be presented before the jurisdictional Sub Registrar’s office to register the further documents.

3.We would pass the following directions in this petition:

The petition for return of documents may be presented before the Trial Court, namely, the XVII Additional City Civil Court, Chennai, in O.S.No.2868 of 2019 with an undertaking to substitute the original documents with true attested copies.
