Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner request to made correction of her name S. Uma Maheswari instead of Uma mentioned in her son Hari Balaji Birth Certificate issued on 18.07.2008 in S. No.60829 and pass orders in accordance with law within a period stipulated by this Honble Court and pass such further or other orders as this Honble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case and thus render justice.

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondent to correct the name of the petitioner in her son's birth certificate which was issued on 18.07.2008.

Mr.K.Sivabalan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf

of the respondent.

By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner,

though the name of the petitioner is S.Uma Maheswari, she has been wrongly mentioned as Uma in the birth certificate issued in the name of her son namely Hari Balaji. Therefore, she has made a request to the authorities to issue a fresh birth certificate for which the respondents have issued a communication on 17.04.2023, directing the petitioner to appear in person along with records.

In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to appear

in person before the office of the 1^st respondent along with all the documents called for in the communication dated 17.04.2023 within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On verification of the records, the respondent is directed to issue a fresh birth certificate to the petitioner's son within a period of three weeks therefrom.
