The petitioner is a Block Development Officer. He was issued with

a charge memo under Section 17(a) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services [Discipline and Appeal] Rules in Na.Ka.No.5514 /2023/Pa/1[va], dated 30.08.2023 and after enquiry he was issued with a punishment of censure. As against the order of punishment, the petitioner has already filed an appeal before the 1^st respondent on 02.05.2025. In view of the pendency of the disciplinary proceedings, he has lost the promotion for the year 2025-2026. Unless the appeal is decided within a reasonable time, he may also lose the promotion in future also. Therefore, the petitioner seeks a direction to the 1^st respondent to dispose of the appeal within a reasonable time.

2.The learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents seeks time to ascertain the stage of the appeal filed by the petitioner.
