The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to lay road on Bajanaimadam Street upto the end of Kothaiyaru River, Vellanguli Village, Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District based on the representation dated 07.05.2025.

Heard the arguments of Mr.K.K.Udayakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.F.Deepak, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice on behalf of the third respondent. By consent of both sides, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, a road laid in Bajanaimadam Street of his village was only half of the street and that too around 15 years ago and the remaining portion was left as a mud road. In this regard, request was made to the respondents to lay proper road up to the end of the street. It is contention of the petitioner that the said street serves as main access route for the villagers to reach nearly 700 acres of agricultural land and is essential to transport their agricultural produce. Since the respondents have not acted upon their request, the petitioner is before this Court.

The learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered and order will be passed in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondents 3 and 4 are directed to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 07.05.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
