PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to immediately distribute life jackets to all fishermen including the petitioner, who paid due amount and dispose the representation given by the petitioner dated 15.07.2025 to the respondents 1 to 4 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

The Writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to immediately distribute life jackets to all fishermen including the petitioner, who paid due amount and dispose the representation given by the petitioner dated 15.07.2025 to the respondents 1 to 4 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

2.Status report filed by the 2^nd respondent indicates that as on today, Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation Ltd., has supplied 7074 life jackets out of 9,101 life jackets to the fishermen of the coastal districts, including

to the petitioner and actions have been initiated to expedite and complete the supply before 3^rd week of August, 2025.

3.In view of the said status report, no further adjudication on merits needs to be undertaken. However, the respondents shall ensure that remaining life jackets are supplied to the fishermen as expeditiously as possible.
