This Writ Petition has been filed for directing the respondents to appoint a

fit person for temple administration of Arulmigu Sri Palaniandavar Temple, situated at South Street, Melur Taluk, Madurai District by considering the petitioner’s representation, dated 19.05.2025.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent.

It is submitted that there are already two O.As pending before the Joint Commissioner/first respondent herein under Sections 63(b) and 64 (1) of the TN HR & CE Act, 1959, respectively, at the behest of the petitioner.

The request of the petitioner, pending disposal in O.A.Nos.12 of 2019 and 25 of 2021, a fit person may be appointed under Section 49 of TN HR and CE Act, 1959 by the second respondent. I see no impediment in directing the

respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.05.2025.

However, before passing such order, notice shall be issued to the parties in respective O.As pending before the first respondent. The respondents shall pass appropriate orders on merits as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
