The petitioner, seeking permission for conducting Vinayakar Chaturthi processions from 26.08.2025 to 29.08.2025, has submitted a representation to the respondent Police and also filed this writ petition.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner is residing within Madurai District and he is intending to immerse vinayakar statue by conducting procession upto Anaipatti which comes under the jurisdiction of Dindigul District. Therefore, it is not feasible to grant permission in other District. In the event, if the petitioner confines the procession within Madurai District, the same would be considered.

Considering the said submission, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to confine the procession within Madurai District. If the petitioner confines the procession within Madurai District, the respondent Police shall consider the same. No costs.
