This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to grant permission and provide adequate Police protection for conducting the Kumbabhishekam of the petitioner’s family deity temple, Sri Vennimalai Ayyanar Temple, situated at Survey No.141/2, Patta No.396, T.Kunnathur, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, scheduled to be held on 04.09.2025.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the fourth respondent raised certain objections to the conduct of the Kumbabhishekam . Considering the nature of the relief sought, this Court, by an earlier order, dated 28.07.2025, referred the matter to mediation and appointed a counsel as Mediator.

In view of the above development, this Writ Petition is allowed.

The respondent Police are directed to grant necessary permission and provide adequate protection to the petitioner for conducting the Kumbabhishekam . The parties shall also ensure that the festival is conducted in a peaceful manner without giving rise to any law and order issue.
