The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to consider the petitioners’ joint representation dated 07.07.2023, seeking payment of compensation or allotment of house to each of the petitioners.

It is stated that the petitioners’ grandfather, K. Muthu, originally purchased the property situated at No.4, BRN Garden, VOC Nagar, Broadway, Chennai–1 for valuable consideration from the 2^nd respondent Corporation, and the same was registered as Document No.359 of 1977. However, the officials of the 2^nd respondent Corporation are giving pressure on the petitioners to vacate the premises without issuing any notice.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that, after the demise of their grandfather, the property was transferred to the name of their father, Annamalai. 2/5

W.P. No.27027 of 2023 Subsequently, on 20.09.2005, their father Annamalai passed away, leaving the petitioners as his legal heirs. After his demise, the petitioners have been residing in the said property and claim to be the absolute owners thereof.

It is the further grievance of the petitioners that, without paying any adequate compensation or providing alternative houses, the 1^st respondent is threatening to evict them from their property. Hence, they submitted a joint representation on 07.07.2023 seeking compensation or grant of house to each of the petitioners, but the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the present writ petition has been filed.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would

suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioners’ joint representation dated 07.07.2023 within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the 1^st respondent has no objections to the said order being passed.

Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 1^st respondent to consider the petitioner’s joint representation dated 07.07.2023 on
