Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.05.2025 and to grant extension of time up to 27.10.2025 to comply the order of the 2nd respondent letter No. se. Po /e and pa/kallai/vaAA/Koo.saa munnurimai.90 notice/no.060/2020-21 dated 17.07.2020 for getting for electricity for agricultural purpose in petitioners land which is situated in S.No. 14/25A vide Patta No. 400 S.F no. 14/31 vde patta No. 406 S.F no. 14/36 vide patta No. 409 S.F no. 14/37 Vide patta No. 410 S.F No. 14/25B vide Patta no. 476 at nallathur Village Kallakuruchi Taluk and District.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 12.05.2025, wherein the petitioner has sought for extension of time upto 27.05.2025 to comply with the directions issued by the second respondent through communication dated 17.07.2020 for getting free electricity for agricultural purpose.

Heard Mr.Saravanan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Swami Subramanian, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

The case of the petitioner is that he is a farmer and he is doing cultivation in the subject property. The petitioner has applied for free electricity for agricultural purpose on 03.03.2020 before the second respondent. The second respondent has considered the same and passed an order on 17.07.2020. The petitioner was directed to submit the necessary documents on or before 14.09.2020 after purchasing the motor pump and to produce clearance certificate on or before 27.10.2020. Due to the reasons beyond the control of the petitioner, he was not able to submit the documents and hence he submitted a representation for extension of time. Since the same was not considered, the

present writ petition has been filed.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deal with the representation dated 27.05.2025 submitted by the petitioner and take a decision on the same within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
