The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus

to direct second respondent to consider the representation of petitioner dated 02.05.2025 with regard to registration of land.

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is

taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioners is that petitioners 1 to 7 represented by their power agent, 8 th petitioner decided to sell the properties belonging to them and presented the document for registration on the file of Joint Registrar-II, Sub Registrar Office, Thiruppur. Certain defects were found in

the document, hence document was returned for rectification of errors. After rectification of errors, petitioners presented the deed for registration once again. However, the Joint Registrar has not registered the document. Therefore, petitioners submitted a representation dated 02.05.2025 to the respondents. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

At the outset, learned Government Advocate for respondents would submit that in the present writ petition there is nothing to indicate that petitioners have in fact presented the sale deed which was refused registration. It is further submitted that if petitioners were to re-present the sale deed, then the sale deed would be considered and registered, if it is otherwise in order. I f for any reason, registration is refused, a check slip would be issued after assigning reason, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioners.

5. In view thereof, the Writ Petition stands disposed of with a

direction to petitioners to re-present the sale deed for registration before the concerned respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. On such re-presentation, the concerned respondent shall consider and register the sale deed, if it is otherwise in order. If for any reason, the Registering Authority finds that the registration ought to be refused, the same shall be done after assigning reasons and after putting the petitioners and other interested parties on notice. The above exercise shall be carried out within a period of four weeks from the date of re-presentation of documents for registration. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any view with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
