The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition praying for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the first respondent issued in his Letter dated 04.06.2024 and quash the same and consequently direct the second respondent to release the claim relating to the death claim of the Policy No.762100659 to the petitioner the sole heir of J.Mohan Ranjith within a limited time frame.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the

sole and direct legal heir of the deceased Mohan Ranjith being the holder of LIC Policy No.762100659 of the respondents-LIC. The father and mother of the petitioner alrelady died and the brother died leaving behind the petitioner as the sole legal heir in his status as a Bachelor. The petitioner applied for settlement of the claim in his LIC Policy with the Legal Heirship Certificate and the claim of the petitioner was rejected and the respondents insisted on for producing the succession certificate. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition challenging the rejection of the application by the respondents and the petitioner pray to direct the respondents to sanction and release the necessary payments

At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner pryed to grant liberty to the petitioner to approach the Civil Court for obtaining the Succession Certificate enabling to claim the benefits of the LIC, EPF payments, etc.

Hence, this Court grants liberty to the petitioner to approach the Civil Court for issuance of Succession Certificate and produce the same before the respondents/authorities for releasing the claim benefits in LIC policy, EPF payments, etc.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no

order as to costs. The miscellaneous petitions are closed.
