This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for noncompliance with the order dated 01.02.2024, passed by this Court in W.P.No.8553 of 2023, which directed the first respondent/University to promote the petitioner to the post of Assistant Professor Stage II, and subsequent promotions, along with all attendant service benefits.

Challenging the said order dated 01.02.2024 made in W.P.No.8553 of 2023, a Writ Appeal No.1308 of 2025 was filed before the Division Bench of this Court, which was dismissed by confirming the order passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P.No.8553 of 2023. However, the time for complying with the order was extended for a further period of eight weeks from the date of the judgment dated 16.06.2025.

The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent submitted that as per the order of this Court dated 01.02.2024 passed in W.P.No.8553 of 2023, the Registrar, Bharathiyar University, has promoted the petitioner to the respective promoted post. Insofar as the other attendant benefits are concerned, they are under process and will be complied

with within the stipulated period prescribed by the Division Bench of this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either sides and perused

the materials available on record.

¶27

It is seen from the records that the Division Bench of this Court

has already been extended the time for complying with the order dated 01.02.2024 made in W.P.No.8553 of 2023, for a further period of eight weeks

by the Division Bench of this Court in W.A.No.1308 of 2025 by order dated 16.06.2025.

Therefore, the respondent is directed to comply with the order dated 01.02.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.No.8553 of 2023, on or before 06.08.2025.

It is made clear that if the respondent fails to comply with the order of this Court, on or before 06.08.2025, the contempt petition shall revive automatically.
