Contempt Petition No.2108 of 2025 (under Section 11, Contempt of Courts Act, 1971), High Court of Judicature at Madras, V.Lakshminarayanan J., 24.10.2025: T.Muthusamy alleged willful and deliberate disobedience by Tmt.P.Malarvizhi, Special Officer/Block Development Officer, A.Eraiyamangalam Village Panchayat (Thiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District), of the order dated 07.03.2025 in W.P.No.7989 of 2025. On hearing, it transpired that an appeal lay in W.A.No.2430 of 2025; the Division Bench modified the positive mandamus given in paragraph 7 of the writ order and directed the 6th respondent to give notice to the writ petitioner and the private respondents and thereafter take suitable action in respect of removal of the piggery farms. In terms of that direction, the Block Development Officer, Thiruchengode, passed an order on 22.10.2025, a copy whereof was served on the petitioner's counsel and recorded. O R D E R

Alleging contempt of the order in W.P.No.7989 of 2025 dated 07.03.2025,

this contempt petition has been initiated.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.P.Mani, representing private respondents in the writ petition, pointed out that against the order dated 07.03.2025, an appeal was preferred to the Division Bench in W.A.No.2430 of 2025. The positive mandamus given in paragraph 7 had been modified by the Division Bench. The Division Bench had directed the 6^th respondent to give notice to the writ petitioner and the private respondents and thereafter, take a suitable action in respect of removal of the piggery farms. In terms of the direction given by the Division Bench, the Block Development Officer, Thiruchengode, has passed an order on 22.10.2025.
