PRAYER:- Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting Jallikattu at Arulmigu Sri Vettaikara Swamy Temple, gHrpwg;g [ jpUtpHh of Alavayal, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District on 09.04.2021 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2021.

We have heard Mr.G.Mathavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Mu.Muthu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2.The petitioner seeks for a direction to grant permission for conducting Jallikattu at Arulmighu Sri Vettaikara Swamy Temple, Palasirappu Thiruvizha of Alavayal, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District by considering their application, dated 17.02.2021.

Tahsildar, Ponnamaravathi, dated 09.04.2021, from which, it is seen that the permission has been declined. Furthermore, the Government has also issued certain restrictions for movement of public etc., considering the Covid-19 Pandemic.

4.For the present, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted. However, the Writ Petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to file a fresh application, after the restrictions are relaxed by the Government in its entirety. No costs.
