The challenge in this petition is to a notice issued on October 12, 2021, indicating how the elections would be conducted to the posts of Chairman of Panchayat Unions and other relevant posts for the Nemili Panchayat Union in Ranipet.

It is not necessary to go into the flaws pointed out in view of the stand taken by the first respondent Tamil Nadu State Election Commission. In view of the anomalies pointed out, the Commission through Mr.Sivashanmugam, makes a statement that a fresh notice would be issued earliest by October 22, 2021, providing seven clear days' notice, for the purpose of conducting elections to the posts of Chairman of the Panchayat Union and other relevant posts for the Nemili Panchayat Union in Ranipet.

In view of such statement, the anomalies pointed out on behalf of the petitioner are no longer relevant. W.P.No.22747 of 2021 is disposed of by permitting the first respondent to issue a fresh notification as aforesaid.

There will be no order as to costs. WMP No.23966 of 2021 is closed.
