Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider petitioner request of fulfilling the basic needs, amenities and other needs to in favour of petitioner village at Veemanur, Veeranam Panchayat, Ayothiapattinam Panchayat Union, Salem Taluk and District by considering petitioner representation dated 20.03.2018.

Contending inter alia that in Veeranam Village, Ayothiapattinam Panchayat Union, basic amenities such as road, drinking water, school, medical facilities are not provided to the Village people, petitioner is stated to have sent a representation to the Hon'ble Chief Minister. Responding to the above, Special Officer, office of the Hon'ble Chief Minister Special Cell vide letter No.0-34174-SL-2018 dated 21.03.2018 has directed the District Collector, Salem District to take action on the representation and to send the details to the writ petitioner. Special Officer of the Hon'ble Chief Minister's Special Cell in his letter dated 21.03.2018, has further stated that the matter would be discussed in the next monthly review meeting. Said letter dated 21.03.2018, reads thus.

Though the petitioner has contended that no action is taken on the representation dated 20.03.2018, from the above, it could be seen that directions have been issued to the District Collector, Salem District to act on the representation and to submit the details to the writ petitioner.

In addition to the above, on instructions from the Office of the District Collector, Salem District, Mr.E.Manoharan, learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that whatever is stated in the supporting affidavit to the writ petition, is not correct in its entirety. But there are some works to be completed in the village. He further submitted that the District Collector, Salem District, would be instructed to act as per the

letter of the Special Officer, Hon'ble Chief Minister's Special Cell dated 21.03.2018.

Placing on record the above, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Collector, Salem District to act as per the instructions contained in the letter dated 21.03.2018 and send a reply to the writ petitioner within three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs.
