Prayer: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus direction, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 11.03.2019 and 15.04.2019 of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Public Relation Officer for vacant from 31.05.2019 in the respondents office and with all consequential benefits and in accordance with law within a time to be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

The writ petitioner was called for special recruitment drive for SC/ST filling up backlog vacancy of Public Relations Assistant Grade -II on 06.12.1999, and he was also selected. It is stated that he was recommended to the post of Assistant Public Relations Officer by transfer of service and he was also appointed. He also got due seniority for further promotion as Public Relations Officer. It is stated that though he is fully qualified and since there is vacancy in May 2019, he had given his representations for such promotion. He had actually given two representations on 11.03.2019 and 15.04.2019.

2 Mr.V.Gangatharan, learned counsel had taken notice on behalf of the respondents. The learned counsel also stated that vacancy arises at the end of May 2019. Therefore, a direction is issued to the respondents to dispose of the representations given by the writ petitioner and also pass necessary orders regarding his eligibility / suitability for promotion to the post of Public Relations Officer. The entire exercise has to be completed on or before 31.05.2019, or before the vacancy is filled up. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
