The petitioner has filed the above writ petitions to issue writs of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to receive the petitioner's application, dated 10.02.2016 in Form 45 of the Motor Vehicle Rules for the grant of All India Tourist Maxi Cab permit in respect of petitioner's vehicle bearing Temporary Registration Nos. TN-45-TCS-14017, TN-45-TCS-14018 and TN-72-TMBC-2899, having Engine and Chassis number as mentioned in the prayer of the writ petitions and to consider the same and pass orders in accordance with law.

Mr.S.Govindraman, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that since the second respondent is refusing to receive the applications, the second respondent may be directed to receive the applications submitted by the petitioner and dispose of the same in accordance with law.

Mr.A.Zakir Hussain, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the second respondent may be directed to receive the applications and pass orders in accordance with law, within a stipulated time.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the second respondent to receive the applications of the petitioner, dated 10.02.2016 in Form 45 of the Motor Vehicle Rules for the grant of All India Tourist Maxi Cab permit for the above said vehicles and consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
