The prayer in the writ petition is to direct the respondents 3 to 5 to give police protection to the people of K. Pudhupatti Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District based on the petitioner's representation, dated 08.01.2014.

2.Consequent to an untoward incident happened on 31.03.2013 one person was murdered. There appears to be law and order problem in the village. Therefore, some of the villagers have made a representation on 08.01.2014 to give them police protection. Since no orders have been passed so far, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.Without going into the merits of the case, we direct the Superintendent of Police, Pudukottai District, the third respondent herein to look into the grievance expressed by the petitioner and deal with the matter in accordance with law.

4.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
