The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking a Mandamus to direct the first respondent to process their application for starting a college of arts and science.

Heard Mr.D.Rajagopal, learned counsel for the petitioner. Mr.S. Gunasekaran, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

The petitioner made an application on 28.12.2011 for permission to start a college of arts and science. By a communication dated 12.2.2014, the Government directed the Director of Collegiate Education to send proposals along with

certain documents. The petitioner also sent all the documents. Since no orders are passed, the petitioner is before this Court.

Considering the limited nature of the prayer sought and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 28.12.2011 on merits and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
