This writ petition has been filed praying to issue a Writ of Certiorari calling for the records of the respondent in G.D.No.69/201-1 dated 14.12.2012 and quash the same.

Mr.Aditya Reddy, learned Government Advocate (Tax) takes notice for the respondent. By consent the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The writ petition has been filed challenging the Goods Detention Notice. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that they have paid the disputed tax and got the release of the goods. Insofar as composition is concerned no action has been taken. Therefore, petitioner pleads prejudice and seeks a direction that appropriate action may be taken by the department to finalise the proceedings.

Since the goods have already been released, the larger relief sought for to quash the impugned proceedings becomes infructuous.

Insofar as the request for finalising the proceedings for composition is concerned, the respondent department is directed to complete the same as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
