ORDER : The Court Made the following order :-

The petitioner was arrested by the respondent police in Crime No.273 of 2013 for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act. He has come forward with this petition seeking bail.

Heard Mr.R.P.Karuppasamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Prabha, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the State.

The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 1.200 kgs of Ganja and the alleged occurrence has taken place on 22.06.2013 and the petitioner was arrested and remanded into judicial custody from 22.06.2013.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the petitioner has several previous cases and he would oppose for granting bail to the petitioner.

Considering the submissions made on both side and also considering the fact that the petitioner has several previous cases but this petitioner has been in judicial custody from 22.06.2013 onwards, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail, on his executing a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned I Additional District Judge for Principal Special Court for NDPS Court, Madurai and on further condition that the petitioner shall stay at Trichy and report before the Trichy Cantonment Police Station daily twice at 10.30 a.m., and 5.30 p.m., for a period of two weeks and thereafter as and when required for the purpose of interrogation.
