PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to disburse the compensation amount sanctioned to the petitioners under the scheme of "Payir Kaappeettu Thittam" by the government of Tamilnadu in petitioners' Insurance Account numbers 84, 21 and 226 with the third respondent for the year 2009 cultivation within the stipulated period.

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to disburse the compensation under "Crop Insurance Scheme". In this regard, he has made a representation to the first respondent on 27.06.2011

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

Considering the nature of relief sought for in the writ petition,

the first respondent is directed to consider the claim of the petitioners in terms of representation as above, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court does not express any opinion about the merits of the petitioners' claim and the Authority shall dispose the same on its own merits.
