PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue the Police Clearance Certificate and replacement of passport based on the petitioner's representation, dated 02.06.2011 and applications dated 18.05.2011, 23.05.2011, 26.05.2011 and 02.06.2011.

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to issue Police Clearance Certificate and replaced passport based on the petitioner's representation, dated 02.06.2011 and applications, dated 18.05.2011, 23.05.2011, 26.05.2011 and 02.06.2011.

Heard Mr.T.Selvan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Irulappan, learned counsel for the respondent.

4 . The petitioner seeks the following two reliefs in this Writ petition based on the representation, dated 02.06.2011:

(i) To issue Police Clearance Certificate; and

¶19

(ii) To issue replaced passport.

¶20

The respondent has filed a counter and in paragraph No.6 of the said counter, it is stated that there is an error in the address and the petitioner should furnish some other document in support of proof of residence.

The petitioner is willing to submit the proof of residence to the respondent so as to enable the authority to replace the passport which is said to be damaged.

In such view of the matter, as and when the petitioner submits the proof of residence to the respondent, the respondent shall consider the same and issue replaced passport and the Police Clearance Certificate, thereafter as expeditiously as possible.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
