The petitioners, who are husband and wife,

decided to adopt a child. They claim to be physically, mentally and emotionally stable and financially capable of adoption. Following the norms prescribed for adoption, petitioners registered their request in the website of the 2^nd respondent Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), through the 4^th respondent. The adoption process got delayed after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the petitioners received a message from the 2^nd respondent that a child aged 1 year and 2 months is ready for adoption from the 5^th respondent Trust. The petitioners were therefore called to appear before the Adoption Committee through Google meet. Accordingly, the petitioners interacted with the members of the Adoption Committee on 26.11.2021. To their dismay, the petitioners have

not received any further information regarding adoption of the child from the 5^th respondent Trust. The petitioners apprehend that they will lose their chance to adopt the child.

Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioners and the learned ASGI.

Considering the limited relief sought, the 2^nd respondent is directed to take an appropriate decision on the application submitted by the petitioners, in accordance with the prescribed procedure and intimate the decision to the petitioners. The decision, as directed above, shall be taken within two months of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The writ petition is dispose of accordingly.
