additional examiner that the students have indulged in mass copying in respect of the answer scripts of the BHM paper. However, the Chief Examiner has refused to accept the observation made by the additional examiner. The Chief Examiner has opined that the students and the key setter may have referred to the same material available online due to the pandemic restrictions and online classes. He has also opined that the entire answer sheets of the candidates are not copies of the answer key and the finding that mass copying had occurred was not justifiable because the answers varied and the marks awarded were different. The Chief Examiner has also pointed out that failures have been recorded and the average marks secured by the students were just 50%. According to the Chief Examiner, the entire 35 candidates cannot be suspected solely because they have written a few correct answers in the same manner and the answers had some resemblances with the answer key. However, the Chairman has opined that the observations of the Additional Examiner are genuine and has recommended the investigation of the matter by a Principal of a Government College. In the said circumstances, the result of the 6th semester BHM February 2021 Degree Examinations was withheld. The matter was later placed before the Standing Committee of the Syndicate which in its meeting held on 11.1.2022 recommended that the matter be referred to the Standing Committee of the Syndicate on Students’ Discipline.
