JUDGMENT

This Contempt Case is filed alleging that the respondents have wilfully flouted the directions issued by this Court in order dated 24.02.2022 in W.P. (C) No.5800 of 2022.

As per the interim order, this Court had directed the counsel appearing for the respondents to apprise this Court the steps that can be taken to introduce the reform of submitting the life certificates online and also as to why the various modes as provided in Ext.P3 issued by the Central Government cannot be adopted. This Court had also directed the respondents to extend the cut off date so that the left out pensioners can submit their life certificates by adopting a suitable mode.

The petitioner contends that though the cut off date was extended no other mode was provided for submission of the life certificates.

This Court had only directed the respondents to explore the possibility of providing other modes. There was no specific direction to put in place alternate modes. The respondents having extended the cut off date in terms of the directions issued by this Court, I do not think that any case of contempt is made out.
