JUDGMENT
When this matter was called today, Sri.N.Sasidharan
Unnithan – learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, submitted that, though the direction in the judgment to pay the principal amount has been complied with, the respondent is refusing to pay interest; and therefore, prayed that necessary action under the Contempt of Courts Act be initiated against him.
2 . I am afraid that I cannot find favour with the afore
submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner because, what was directed by this Court was that the respondent will pay the eligible amounts within a time frame, failing which it will carry interest.
3 . Obviously, therefore, if the petitioner requires a
remedy to be initiated, edificed on his claim for interest, he will have to invoke the alternative remedy; for which all liberties are
left open.
This Contempt Case is thus closed.
