JUDGMENT

The petitioners have preferred Exts.P2 and P3 applications before the 1^st respondent seeking a compounding of the offence charged against them under the Kerala Minor Mineral Concession Rules. The limited prayer in the writ petition is for a direction to the 1^st respondent to consider and pass orders on the same, expeditiously, after hearing the petitioners.

I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the bar, I dispose the writ petition with a direction to the 1^st respondent to consider and pass orders on Exts.P2 and P3 applications for compounding, within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after hearing the petitioners. The petitioners shall produce a copy of the writ petition together with a copy of this judgment before the 1^st respondent for further action.
