The petitioner is a senior citizen. She applied for Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension introduced by the Central Government, to aid persons who have crossed the age of 60 years. The local bodies have been entrusted with the task of receiving application, processing, granting and distribution of the pension. The petitioner applied for pension along with necessary documents. The grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been taken pursuant to Ext.P2. The learned counsel for the petitioner now submits that it was revealed by the petitioner that her application filed on 11.06.2019 has been dismissed on 06.07.2019. Further grievance of the petitioner is that this dismissal was not brought to the notice of her. She has approached this Court for necessary directions.

In the light of the counter affidavit disclosing that her application was dismissed earlier in the year 2019. The limited prayer sought by the petitioner was to close the writ petition

reserving her right to seek statutory appeal against the rejection of her application before the 1^st respondent. Having considered this, I am inclined to permit the petitioner to withdraw the writ petition, reserving her right to seek the appropriate relief. The period during which the petitioner has spent before this Court can be reckoned for considering the delay that has already occurred.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
