J U D G M E N T

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kottarakara is impleaded suo motu as the additional third respondent in the writ petition.

The grievance of the petitioner in the writ petition concerns the delay on the part of the respondents in taking a decision on the application for permission to use a loud speaker preferred by the petitioner in terms of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as also the learned Government Pleader.

The learned Government Pleader submits that the petitioner has preferred the application before the first respondent, and the same has been forwarded by the first respondent to the additional third respondent who is the competent authority as far as the petitioner is concerned, to take a decision in the matter. It is also submitted by the learned Government Pleader that orders will be passed

expeditiously on the said application.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, especially the fact that the petitioner intends to make mike announcements during Onam festival, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the additional third respondent to pass orders on the application referred to in the writ petition, within three days from the date of production of a copy of this judgment. Ordered accordingly.
