JUDGMENT

Being aggrieved by the delay in considering Ext.P3 application submitted by the petitioner invoking Rule 6 of the Land Assignment Rules, 1964 for assignment of ½ cents of property lying contiguous to the property of the petitioner and for his beneficial enjoyment, this writ petition is filed seeking directions.

I have heard Sri.Dinesh Mathew J Murikan, the learned counsel

for the petitioner and Smt.A.C.Vidhya, the learned Government Pleader.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances and the submissions made across the bar, I am of the view that necessary directions can be issued to the 3rd respondent to consider the application for assignment and take a decision in an expeditious manner.

Resultantly, this writ petition is disposed of directing the 3rd respondent to take up Ext.P3 application and finalize the same in strict adherence to law and with notice to the petitioner. Orders shall be passed expeditiously, in any event, within a period of three months from the date of production of a copy of this judgment.
