The petitioner is a stage carriage operator. He filed an application seeking issuance of a regular permit on an intradistrict route. He contends that the route is ill served and would be beneficial to the travelling public. His prayer in this petition is to consider Ext.P1 application for regular permit and pass orders.

I have heard Sri. O.D.Sivadas, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri.K.P.Harish, the learned Senior Government Pleader.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances and the submissions made across the Bar, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to take up Exhibit-P1 and pass appropriate orders, in consonance with law and procedure. Orders shall be passed expeditiously, at any rate, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this judgment. If there are no other impediments, the respondents may resort to passing orders by Circulation of Papers under Rule 130 of the Kerala Motor Vehicle Rules.
