J U D G M E N T

The petitioner is a senior citizen seeking assignment of property having an extent of 14 cents comprised in Sy.No.57 of Periyar Village, he submitted an application for assignment under the Land Assignment Act, 1960. When his repeated applications did not yield any result, he has approached this Court with this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to consider Ext.P2 application on its merits.

I have heard Sri. George Mathew, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances and the submissions made across the Bar, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 3^rd respondent to consider Exhibit P2 application submitted by the petitioner, if the same is in order and take a decision in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Before passing orders, the petitioner shall also be afforded an opportunity of being heard.

The petitioner shall produce a copy of the writ petition along with the judgment before the 3^rd respondent to ensure compliance.
