JUDGMENT

The petitioner, who was awarded the work of supply of sports kit to the players in various sports hostels, institutions in the State in March, 2019, had completed the work in May, 2019 itself by supplying kits worth Rs.79,32,500/-. Since the respondents did not make any payment even after repeated requests, the petitioner had filed this Writ Petition.

On the basis of various interim orders passed by this Court, the petitioner has since received the payment in the second week of November, 2020. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that earnest money deposit is still lying with the 2^nd respondent.

The Writ Petition is therefore disposed of directing that the 2^nd respondent shall take expeditious steps for releasing the earnest money deposit to the petitioner, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The claim for interest is left open.
