Based on the special report No. 1/2020 of the learned Ombudsman, Travancore and Cochin Devaswom Board, the above DBP was registered. The special report carries suggestions regarding enhancement of the salary of Secretary, Private Secretary, Peon and Part Time Sweeper in the office of the learned Ombudsman. We have carefully gone through the report. Considering the fact that the work load in the office of the learned Ombudsman has increased considerably, we are of the view that the suggestion for enhancement of salary of the staff in the office of the Ombudsman requires consideration. At the same time, we are of the view that the honorarium payable to the learned Ombudsman and also to the learned Amicus Curiae is also to be considered, in this DBP.

honorarium/salary payable to the learned Ombudsman and the other staff in the office of the Ombudsman a particular ratio was fixed thereunder, in between the Travancore Devaswom Board and the Cochin Devaswom Board. As per the said order, it was revised to ¾ in the case of Travancore Devaswom Board and ¼ in the case of Cochin Devaswom Board. We are of the view that apportionment of the liability
to contribute shall remain as such.

in the office of the Ombudsman, we are of the view that the remuneration for the staff under the learned Ombudsman
should be enhanced in the following manner:-

learned Ombudsman and also to the Amicus Curiae to the learned Ombudsman, taking note of the responsibilities in the
post of Ombudsman and efforts to be taken by the learned Ombudsman in conducting audit and other works and also taking note of the nature of work of the Amicus Curiae to the learned Ombudsman, we are inclined to re-fix the remuneration of the learned Ombudsman and the Amicus curiae to the learned Ombudsman as 80,000/- and 45,000/respectively per month. The enhancement as above ordered as per this order shall be effective with effect from 01.03.2020.
This DBP is disposed of as above.
