The petitioner had approached this Court stating that the detenue, Smt. Renjitha Rajendran, is under the illegal detention of respondents 5 and 6. It is alleged that he married her as per customary rights and Ext.P1 is the certificate of marriage.

The detenue is produced before this Court. We interacted with her. According to her, she had voluntarily left the petitioner after 12 days of marriage for her own reasons and she is voluntarily residing with her parents.

¶35

Having regard to the fact that the detenue is not under the illegal custody of her parents, we do not think that any further directions are required to be passed in the matter. The writ petition is dismissed. The detenue is free to go with her parents.
