The petitioner's application for correction of the mother's name in CBSE has been rejected by Ext.P6. It is stated that the petitioner's application was not within the time. The petitioner in fact passed out examination in the year 2013. In that view of the matter, pre amended bye law would be alone applicable.

In the light of facts and circumstances, this Court is of

the view that the petitioner shall approach the school authorities at the first instance for correcting school records. Thereafter the school authorities shall forward the corrected records to the CBSE for correction. Accordingly, the following directions are issued:

i. If the petitioner approaches the school authority for

correction, the same shall be considered based on the documents relied by the petitioner within three weeks from the

date of receipt of the copy of this judgment.

ii. Thereafter the school authorities shall forward the

corrected school records to the CBSE without any delay.

iii. The CBSE shall correct the certificate within a further period of three months.

iv. The petitioner's case shall be considered in the light of pre-amended bye-laws.

The writ petition is disposed of, as above.
