The petitioner herein seeks pre-arrest bail on the apprehension of arrest in connection with Crime No.470 of 2016 of the Kollam East Police Station registered under Sections 420, 465, 468 and 471 read with 34 of of the Indian Penal Code. She is the 1^st accused in the crime. The second accused is her own son.

Forgery of a document is the subject matter of this crime. It is alleged that the petitioner and her son forged a “port due” statement in the name of the Director of Ports, and produced it before the Port Officer at Kollam in March, 2014. Thus, use of a forged document for certain purposes is alleged against the petitioner and her son. It is submitted by the learned counsel that there is no definite allegation against the petitioner herein, except that her son created such a document as instructed by the mother. In the nature of the allegations, I feel it appropriate to direct the petitioner to surrender before the Investigating Officer for necessary interrogation. After such interrogation, the

request for regular bail can be considered by the learned Magistrate having jurisdiction. Interrogation of the petitioner for the collection of some materials concerning her exact role as a crime parter, or as abettor in the alleged forgery, the nature of the alleged forgery, the purpose for which the forged document was produced, whether the petitioner was in any manner benefited by the alleged document etc., is felt necessary in this case. Without such interrogation, investigation cannot be completed.

In the result, this application for bail is disposed of as follows:

a) The petitioner shall surrender before the investigating officer between 9 a.m and 10 a.m. on any day within seven days from this date for necessary interrogation.

b) After such interrogation, the investigating officer will produce the petitioner before the learned Magistrate having jurisdiction on the same day before 4 p.m.
