On the apprehension of arrest as accused in Crime No.171/2016 of the Bekal Police Station, Kasaragod the petitioners seek pre arrest bail. The alleged incident happened when the Section Forest Officer of the Maruthom Section, Kasaragod seized a vehicle wherein a gun was being transported. It is alleged that when the Section Forester seized the vehicle, one Madhavan and his gang encircled the forest officials and the forest jeep, attacked them, inflicted injuries on their body, and damaged the jeep, thus obstructing discharge of duty by the forest officials. Now there is a report by the Sub Inspector of Police, Bakel Police Station that these petitioners have not so far been arraigned as accused in this crime and nothing could be collected during investigation to implicate these petitioners as accused. It is further reported that these petitioners are in fact the registered owners of the vehicle involved in the incident. It is alleged that the other accused reached the spot in the said vehicle.
