In view of the commonness in the grievances, claims and contentions these writ petitions were taken up for joint consideration and disposal. Essentially, the petitioners who are employees in different Devaswoms under the Malabar Devaswom Board filed these writ petitions mainly with a prayer to attach retrospectively to the order for revision of pay as per order bearing No.68117/Dev.1/2011/R.D dated 25.07.2012. Essentially, the grievances of the petitioners is that the revision of scales of pay effected in the case of Government employees and teachers are made applicable to the employees working under the Malabar Devaswoms covered by the said order dated 25.07.2012. It was given only prospective effect. According to them, it should have been given retrospective effect from 01.07.2009, the date with effect from which pay and allowances of Government employees were revised.
