J U D G M E N T

Dissatisfied with the result of their B. Tech. examination conducted by the respondents in June 2011, the petitioners have filed applications for revaluation. The petitioners complain of delay in completion of the revaluation process. The petitioners therefore seek expeditious completion of the revaluation process.

The Standing Counsel for the University while admitting that as per the rules applicable, the revaluation has to be done within 40 days from the last date for receipt of the applications for revaluation, submits that because of the unprecedented increase in the number of applications for revaluation, the University is finding it very difficult to complete the revaluation process even within the said 40 days.

I am of opinion that having framed a rule, the University is bound to comply with the same. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to see that the revaluation process pursuant to the

applications submitted by the petitioners is completed and the results of the revaluation declared, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within 40 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
