The petitioner is the first accused in Crime No.681/2010 of Cantonment Police Station, Thiruvananthapuram. The offence alleged against him is under section 420 r/w 34 of IPC. Apprehending arrest, this petition is filed for anticipatory bail.

It is alleged that this accused and the 2^nd accused induced the complainant and other persons to believe that the petitioner and other accused would arrange job in Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and Cochin Shipyard. They collected ` 12,95,000/- from the complainant and his friends. The amount was collected from 18 persons, it is alleged. It was alleged that the first accused made the complainant and others to believe that the second accused is the Assistant Police Commissioner in the police department and that job would be secured through him. second accused is stated to be working as a Sub Inspector of Police. He has not been arrested so far. It is stated that he

was placed under suspension. The job, as promised was not arranged. The money obtained from the complainant and others was not returned also. The contention that the amount was collected by A2 and that petitioner is innocent, cannot be accepted.

Considering the gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Hence it is dismissed.
