J U D G M E N T
The petitioner appeared in his M.Sc Mathematics examination. He has filed this writ petition seeking re-verification of his answer paper. The reasons stated for the re-verification is that the first examiner gave the petitioner 13 marks and the 2nd examiner gave the petitioner 28 marks. Therefore, the answer paper was valued by a 3rd examiner who gave the petitioner 14 marks. The University took the average of the nearest two marks. The petitioner submits that because of the difference of more than 10 marks, the petitioner is entitled to a re-verification of the marks.
I do not think that the petitioner has made out a case for reverification or revaluation. It is not as if the petitioner is a brilliant student. As is revealed by the marks scored, I do not find anything wrong with the procedure adopted by the University. In fact, that procedure is in accordance with the Rules prescribed for the same. Therefore, there is no merit in the writ petition. Accordingly, the same is dismissed.
