JUDGMENT
The petitioner is working as Superintending Engineer (H.P.) at the Directorate of Ground Water, Thiruvananthapuram. Earlier, he had approached this Court to redress his grievance regarding non convening of the Departmental Promotion Committee, by filing W.P.(C) No. 33968 of 2008. Pursuant to the direction contained in the said judgment (Ext.P1), the Departmental Promotion Committee was convened and the petitioner was subsequently granted promotion as per Ext.P4 order dated 11.6.2009. This Writ Petition is filed, mainly with the prayer to reassign the date of promotion of the petitioner as Superintending Engineer with effect from the date of occurrence of the vacancy, that is, 11.7.2008. The petitioner had filed Ext.P5 representation before the first respondent seeking the very same relief. Since, the petitioner has already approached the first respondent seeking the said relief, I think, the matter can be looked into by the first respondent.

Therefore, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P5 representation filed
by the petitioner expeditiously, at any rate within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
