Judgment

The petitioner purchased a parcel of land, 3 acres and 40 cents in extent, situated in Survey No. 1/1 of Chinnakanal village, Udumbanchola Taluk by the original of Ext.P1 sale deed. He thereafter moved the fourth respondent Tahsildar through the fifth respondent Village Officer to effect mutation in the revenue records. When mutation was not effected, he submitted Ext.P3 representation before the fourth respondent requesting him to effect mutation in the revenue records. This writ petition was thereafter filed on the very next day seeking a direction to the respondents to effect transfer of registry.

Sri.M.P.Sreekrishnan, the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the fourth respondent Tahsildar will consider the petitioner’s application for transfer of registry and pass appropriate orders thereon expeditiously. He submits that if any more information is required from the petitioner, the Tahsildar will issue notice to him, give him an opportunity to furnish the information or clarification, if any.

In the light of the said submission, I dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider Ext.P3 representation and also the application for transfer of registry submitted by the petitioner before the fifth respondent and pass orders thereon expeditiously and in any event, within two months from the date on which the petitioner produces a certified copy of this judgment before the fourth respondent. The fifth respondent Village Officer shall forward the original of the petitioner’s application for transfer of registry with his remarks and connected papers to the fourth respondent within two weeks from the on which the petitioner produces a certified copy of this judgment before him.
