J U D G M E N T
Petitioners are defaulters in payment of abkari dues. Government announced an amnesty scheme, wherein those who are desirous of taking advantage of the scheme can pay a lesser amount by way of interest. The petitioners opted to avail of the benefits under the amnesty scheme and applied for the same. An amount of Rs. 2,66,032/- was to be paid within 15 days and the balance in three instalments. Accordingly, the petitioners remitted the first instalment under the amnesty scheme on 7-11-2008. The petitioners now seek a direction to the respondents to give the petitioners more time to pay the balance instalments.
