Complaining that the respondent has disobeyed the orders and directions issued by this Court in O.P.No.13347 of 2003 dated 2^nd June, 2003, the complainant is before us in this contempt petition.

At the time of hearing of this petition Sri.P.Parameswaran Nair, learned Assistant Solicitor General, has produced before us a Fax message received by him from the Defence Ministry. The said message reads as under:

In ref. to letters cited u/r, it is stated that PPO No.S/358/2007 in original and pension certificate has been recd. through your rep. and disbursed amount to Rs.3,38,757/(Rupees three lakhs thirty eight thousand seven hundred fifty seven only) to Shri.P.Krishnankutty Nair on 25.06.07. Calculation sheet encl.

With regard to amdt, issued for change of “Place and channel of payment”, vide Corr.PP No.S/361/2007, it is stated

that the pensioner has now opted to draw pension through DPDO, Trivandrum and submitted requisite option forms. It is, therefore, requested that the Corr.PPO mentioned above may be cancelled at your end and inform all concerned accordingly.
