Learned counsel for the respondent No.1 submits that the election held on 09.11.2020 to the post of President and Vice-President to the Mahalingpur, Municipal Council was for

a statutory tenure of two years and that the said term came

to an end in the year 2022. It is therefore, contended that no effective relief survives for consideration in the present writ petition.

The aforesaid submission made by learned

counsel for respondent No.1 is fairly conceded by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the admitted position that the term in office in question has already expired, the writ petition would not survive for consideration. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous .
